Off-roading in the valleys 1

This event was organized by Mark Askew of Jeep World and was to be a chance to explore this 2000 Acre site for the first time. No one knew what to expect but most came with an open mind ready to have fun.

A camping area was established and by the first morning a good selection of Jeeps were ready to go out and play.

A slice of Jeep time, Marks CJ 7, Paul's YJ and a new TJ out to show us what they could do.

Patricks highly modified YJ

And everybody's favorite Wicked Willy sporting its new V8!

Ok, its not a Jeep but we don't get many chances to see Hummers here in the UK.  It may look good but it would have been way to wide for most of the tracks.

Not to be out done my XJ showing its flex!

These hills never look as steep in photo's.

As this was the first time the site had been used much of the time was spent opening up new trails many of which were overgrown.

For many of us mud pluggers it was our first chance to try out our Jeeps over rocks.

The old river beds proved to be a greater challenge than most expected.

This old Jeep Comando showed up many of the newer jeeps.

As usual you can't have a day's off-roading without water and we found this lot just waiting for us.  It turned out to be a lot deeper than expected and swallowed my front wheel!

There was no way that it was coming out under its own power a two 9500lbs winches were needed.

The whole gang lined up - well Jeeps love to pose.
